Random or not random
+
The game is a combination of randomization and planned ideas. The maps, the drops, and sometimes even the monsters stats (hp and dmg) have random elements but based on a planning system. The game wants to keep the feeling of random but in same time to allow the player to have logic in using skills, level-ing and jumping from one map to another. For example, you might follow a planned path from Baka to Narcosis and suddenly to arrive in a Mystery place where everything seems to be random.

Even if the game has fame, leveling, rune choices and skill rank systems which are meant to create the feeling of an RPG, the complexity of the systems and the player dexterity is not high, so that the main purpose of the game (walk and shoot) to remain in place.
Map Types
+
Pagan Hope has 5 map design types:

village/city area

forest area

cave area

house room

tower/dungeon room

To walk from one map to another you have to use the doors, the gates or the portals. The doors and the gates will be opened once you kill all the creatures from the map.

You might find doors or gates that require a specific level, in order for you to pass through, or doors that require specific crystals.
A door or gate that require a crystal will have 2 burning flames, in front of it:
Flame Crystal needed
Sun Crystal
Leaf Crystal
Blood Crystal

Portals, however, in most cases can be used right away, by simple walking through it. Sometimes a portal migth have an unknown destination: you can appear in the next room, between the treese of a mistery forest, into another city or in the dark places of Ja`han.

There are also hidden maps, which have no door, gate or portal. You discover them by luck or by patience. When you will discover a hidden place, you will be anounced by a red message. The treasures inside hidden maps will re-appear after a specific amount of time.
Level System
+
The game has a fame based level system. This means that you will receive specific fame points when killing monsters; once the needed fame amount is made, the hero`s level is increased by one, the maximum level being 200.

For each new level, you will be rewarded with 3 stats points. Also, if your level is below 18 you will receive 1 skill point from 2 in 2 levels, while after level 18 you will receive 1 skill point per level.

Ways to get stat points:
1. when you make a new level.
2. with rare occasions when you clear a map.
3. on gamble NPC.
4. as reward when you win specific achievements.

Ways to get skill points:
1. from 2 in 2 levels till level 18, after that 1 point per level.
2. on gamble NPC.
3. as reward when you win specific achievements.
4. with rare occasions in drop.
5. you can buy them from Bana NPC.

Hero Statistics
+

LevelEach level will have an impact over Max Health, Max Soul, Walk Speed, Soul Verso and Revive Price
VigorThis attribute has an impact on your Max Health, Damage and Attack Range.
AnimaThis attribute has an impact on your Total Soul, Attack Speed and Restoration Rate.
Max HealthThis is the maximum amount of health your hero has.
If your hero is male, you will receive 5 Health points per Vigor
If your hero is female, you will receive 3 Health points per Vigor
Max SoulThis is the maximum amount of souls your hero has. The soul is used for skills` casting.
If your hero is male, you will receive 3 Soul points per Anima
If your hero is female, you will receive 5 Soul points per Vigor
Walk SpeedThis affects how fast your hero walks. This can only be increased with level or by using specific items (see Items chapter). - this is a hidden attribute, you cannot see it`s value.
By default, your walking speed will be increased after level 15.
Soul VersoThis attribute lowers the amount of soul needed to cast the skills. This can be increased only with level. - this is a hidden attribute, you cannot see it`s value.
You can calculate this value like so: (0.045*hero_level)% from your Max Soul
Example:
if your selected skill require 17 soul, your level is 40 and max soul is 430 means that to use your skill you will need:
skill_needed_soul - soul_verso = 17 - (0.045*40)/100 * 430 = 17 - 7 = 10 soul
DamageYour basic damage is based on Vigor and Anima points, while the total damage is based on the basic damage, Critical%, Selected skill`s damage and Vigor Magis skill.
The basic damage formula is: 15 + Vigor/2 + Anima/5
Critical%This attribute is achieved by enchanting your bow. To do this you need to find Decebal NPC, who for a specific amount of gold will enchant your bow.
The critical value represents a percent from your basic damage and the chance to be applied.
Example: if your basic damage is 120 and your bow has 33 critical means that with a probability of 33% your damage will become 120 + 33/100*120 = 159
Helath StealHealth Steal value is the amount of health you can steal from monsters per hit. This value is based on your bow enhancements and/or skill used, while the success is depending on the monster type (see Enchanhement chapter for details).
Soul StealSoul Steal value is the amount of soul energy you can steal from monsters per hit. This value is based on your bow enhancements and/or skill used, while the success is depending on the monster type (see Enchanhement chapter for details).
Attack SpeedThis value represents the speed of your arrows and magic spells.
Not to be mistaken with skill`s cooldown which means how often you can cast a skill.
Attack speed is based on your Anima.
Attack RangeThis represents how far your arrows and magfic bullets will go.
This value is based on Vigor and it`s max value can be 500 (pixels in terms of screen size).
Restore RateThis value represents how fast you can restore your health and soul when using Potentia Creo skill or Restoration Altars. The amount of restored health and soul per second is based on your Anima and the Runes you wear.
The maximum can be 60 / second.
Revive PriceWhen you die, you can pay a price to be resurected in same map. Higher your level is, higher the required gold will be.
The price in gold is 28 + 4 times your level.
Death System
+
When you die you can resurrect in Baka, or if you have enough gold, you can pay Erra to be resurrected in the current map. In both cases, your progress will not be lost.
The price in gold is 28 + 4 times your level.

To die is easy:
1. forgot to pay attention to hero`s health.
2. didn`t use Vigor Magics or Potentia Creo in time.
3. not enough health steal per hit.
4. walking in traps.
5. being killed by monsters hits or
6. getting too close on monsters
Skills
+
The game has 7 skills which you can learn and level up: 3 attack skills, 1 AOE, 1 teleport/blink and 2 buffs.
Apple Pierce
This is your basic combat skill. Level-ing this skill will make it more powerful and faster. Starting with level 7, this skill will use 3 arrows at once making slightly more damage, but if you wear the hunter rune with a level greater then 3, the skill will use 2 arrows only. On the last level, the skill, using the power of Artemis, will reduce the hit target speed. Also, killing enemies with this skill will give you more fame.
Fury of Gebel
Gebel uses his powers to create arrows of energy so that you do not need wooden arrows for casting this spell. Also, if you have any health steal on your bow, Gebel will steal more health from the enemies, by a percent depending on the skill level. This magic uses a percent of your total soul. Increasing the level of this skill will give me more damage and more health steal percentage, but also the needed soul will be higher. Starting with level 5, the skill will slow down the enemies when hit; starting with level 7 the needed soul will be reduced while on the last level Gebel will grant you the ability to shoot arrows in 4 directions.
Marduk Bolt
As written in the books of Druria, Marduk will use his magic to enchant your arrows with a magical fire that will badly damage the enemy. This magic requires 3 arrows, but if you use the Hunter Rune with a level above 5, then 1 arrow will be enough. When using this skill, if your bow is enchanted, the amount of health stolen will be increased.
Fireball
This magic will create a powerful fireball that will shake the ground when hit. Nabu`s wisdom will enchant this magic and create a fire that will burn all the targets around, but pay attention as the Nabu`s fire will damage yourself as well. Leveling this skill will increase the hit range and the duration of Nabu`s fire. After level 5 you will be able to cast the magic over obstacles. If you wear the Restoration Rune, this skill will restore 2% of your total health and soul per hit.
Blink
With this magic, you can fire an invisible arrow into the air and materialize yourself on the arrow`s landing spot. But be careful because with this skill you can materialize over obstacles or inside them. If you use this skill in the direction of an enemy, you will swap the place with the enemy.
Vigor Magis
This magic uses the power of water and fire (Tiamat and Sin) to heal the wounds at an extreme speed and to increase your damage. For the duration of this skill, Tiamat will heal your wounds so fast that it will look like you receive less damage. While Sin will increase your damage. Level this skill to increase the magic duration and the amount of healing and damage that you receive.
Potentia Creo
This magic borrows energy from Amun to restore your health and soul. After you reach level 50,  if the skill level is 9 and your health is lower than half, then each time you finish to kill all the enemies from a map, the skill will auto cast 1 time. If you do not want this behavior, keep it level 8. Level this magic to be able to restore more health and more soul, but be careful as this skill uses almost all your soul energy; even if some of your soul will be restored, try to use this skill only when you are on the verge of dying. And keep in mind: always pay attention to your arrows.
